About Us

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences includes undergraduate programs in nursing, health information management, health services administration, and pre-dental hygiene.  Graduate programs are offered in nursing, and include the MSN and DNP degrees. At the master’s level, students are prepared as family nurse practitioners and nurse educators.

There are approximately 2000 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the College. The reputation of UL Lafayette nursing and health sciences graduates is known throughout the state of Louisiana and the southern region of the United States. Within each department, highly qualified faculty assist students in meeting program and student outcomes.

Pass rates for graduates in nursing and health information management are consistently well above state and national averages on standardized exams required for entry into practice. In 2018, the Nursing Simulation Program was granted full accreditation by the Society for Simulation in Health Care, making it one of less than 100 programs internationally which has achieved this designation.

Employment rates among graduates at all levels indicate that health care institutions view nurses from our programs as valuable assets, and support from these agencies assists in consistently meeting or exceeding program goals.
