Academic Programs

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences offers academic programs that prepare our students for careers that span much of the dynamic field of healthcare. Our experienced and nationally recognized faculty have carefully designed each program's curriculum to ensure that students are ready to enter the career of their choice in this ever-expanding area that encompasses everything from ER nurses to wellness coordinators to health information analysts.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences is divided into two departments, each with its own unique identity. Both departments offer programs that prepare students academically and with hands-on experience and both have bragging rights to some of the highest graduate pass-rates on licensure exams in the nation.

LHC Group • Myers School of Nursing

The LHC Group • Myers School of Nursing provides education at all three levels of professional preparation—undergraduate, masters, and doctoral. You can expect to receive  a world-class education with some of the state's brightest students.

At the undergraduate level, we have a pre licensure, traditional program as well as an online RN to BSN program. At the master's level, we prepare family nurse practitioners, psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioners, and nurse educators. In 2012, we began offering courses for advanced practice nurses and nurse executives interested in pursuing a doctor of nursing practice degree.

Department of Health Sciences

The Department of Health Sciences offers undergraduate degrees in health information management and health services administration, and a two-year pre-dental hygiene curriculum. We also offer the state’s first graduate certificate in population health.

Our health information management undergraduate program prepares students for a professional career in the area of health informatics. A Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management prepares you for a variety of positions including, for example, health data analyst, insurance claims analyst, or patient information coordinator.

Our fully online health services administration undergraduate program prepares qualified professionals for entry and mid-level administrative and operational positions and to serve as preparation for entry into master's degree programs.

Our Graduate Certificate in Population Health, also 100% online, is ideal for professionals who want to make healthcare more equitable for their patients.
