Partnerships

Undergraduate and graduate nursing students engage in direct care clinical activities in health care institutions throughout the state. Additionally, health sciences students participate in internships in agencies across the United States.

Partnerships with hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, schools, community health centers, and psychiatric institutions are vital to the success of our programs, providing the entire spectrum of opportunities for clinical practice. Support from partnering institutions provides resources to enable our nursing and allied health students to achieve designated program outcomes.

LHC Group

In 2021, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences received a transformational investment from LHC Group that recognized the vital role the University and the College play in strengthening and expanding the region’s health care landscape.

The investment in the University’s nursing program will help empower the future of health care and meet the ever growing demand for nurses and other health care professionals in Acadiana, throughout Louisiana, and in combination with LHC Group’s footprint across the country.

The University and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences are deeply grateful to LHC Group and the Myers family for entrusting us with this historic support and are proud to honor their generosity through the naming of the LHC Group • Myers School of Nursing.

Ochsner Lafayette General

In 2024, the LHC Group ∙ Myers School of Nursing, in partnership with OLG, launched the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program.  This program welcomes student who have earned a non-nursing bachelor's degree and are interested in a career in nursing.  The ABSN program is completed over 15 months after general education courses, and all tuition costs are covered by Ochsner Lafayette General, with a three year work commitment upon graduation.

The University and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences are grateful for the support of Ochsner Lafayette General in working together to meet the nursing workforce needs of Acadiana.
