UL Lafayette’s nursing program is among 17 nationwide in 2020 to receive the prestigious designation as a National League for Nursing Center of Excellence in Nursing Education. UL Lafayette’s designation as a Center of Excellence is in the category of creating environments which promote the pedagogical expertise of faculty. Associate Dean, Dr. Lisa Broussard, led a team of faculty in preparing an application to the National League for Nursing. The NLN Center of Excellence designation is designed to showcase schools of nursing and health care organizations that have achieved a level of excellence in a specific area. According to the NLN, the program acknowledges the outstanding innovations, commitment, and sustainability these organizations convey.  Currently, only 64 institutions. across the U.S. hold the NLN Center of Excellence in Nursing Education designation including Duke University, Johns Hopkins University, Clemson University, The Ohio State University, Emory University, NYU and others.
