CONAHP Endowed Chair and faculty lead statewide ACEs survey and report

Dr. Paula Zeanah, LGMC/OLOL Eminent Scholar Endowed Chair in Nursing and the Director of Research at the Picard Center for Child Development at UL Lafayette, Dr. Jeanne Cartier, Professor in the Department of Nursing and the Dr. Donald B. Williams/BORSF Endowed Professor in Nursing, and Dr. Cynthia Suire, Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing, led a team of faculty members from UL Lafayette who collaborated with researchers, faculty, and mental health and social services sector leaders from across Louisiana to produce the state’s first and most comprehensive report on ACEs in Louisiana, A View from the Field: Awareness, Activities, and Approaches for Addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in Louisiana was released in March, 2020 and was based on the results of a statewide survey conducted by Dr. Zeanah and a team of researchers. Dr. Zeanah is the lead author of the comprehensive report.  Subsequent to the report’s publication and following a brief presentation of the findings at the Health Summit 2020 in Baton Rouge, Dr. Zeanah was featured in a documentary which aired on the Louisiana Public Broadcasting network in June.
