DNP student, Lara Hernandez, and faculty members Dr. Christy Lenahan, Dr. Jeanne Cartier, and Dr. Roger Rholden, SLEMCO/BORSF Endowed Professor in Nursing were awarded a $5,000 grant from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. The grant, Home is Where the Heart  Is: Remote Patient Monitoring to Improve Outcomes in Heart Failure in Patients with Reduced Ejection Fraction, will allow Ms. Hernandez to pilot the implementation of Pulsario, a computer-assisted medication titration platform, developed by a local cardiologist, with a group of heart failure patients at a hospital in New Orleans.
