Lactation and Women’s Mobile Health Unit team selected

"The University’s Office of Innovation Management (OIM), in collaboration with Lafayette Economic Development Authority’s Opportunity Machine (OM) startup incubator, is pleased to announce and confirm the participation of the combined Nursing & Architecture Lactation and Women’s Mobile Health Unit team in Lafayette’s inaugural National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps (I-Corps) cohort!

This NSF I-Corps cohort consists of specially selected teams of researchers and innovators who will be educated and trained in identifying and developing the commercial potential of their innovative discoveries. NSF I-Corps expert trainers will travel to Lafayette, where they will be hosted by the combined OM & OIM team. Through a series of lectures, one-on-one training sessions, and interviews with industry, the teams will develop plans to commercialize and transfer to industry, their unique ideas and work. Participating teams will receive $3k in reimbursable funding through NSF, and will also qualify to participate in a National NSF I-Corps cohort. These potential National NSF I-Corps participants can go on to receive up to $50k in additional funding, and will further qualify to receive other forms of NSF funding and support.
